HEllo Everybody
My name is Charlene and behind the wheel, we've got Captain ________ here with us who will be able to see us through that camera over there. So let's wave to him!!! On this tour, you'll get to know more about Singapore's heritage and cultures. As we head out of Suntec, do notice that the 5 towers of suntec is actually postitioned to look like a left hand. In the middle, is the fountain of wealth where people can make a wish and then walk three times in a clockwise direction, a ritual that they believe would make your wish come true. Well, there is a rationale behind the archetecture of Suntec. In Chinese geomancy, water is a symbol of wealth. And since you usually pay your bills with your right hand, your left hand would be for collecting income. So when the fountain of wealth is in operation, you will notice that the water actually moves downwards and into the left hand. Our first stop would be at FU LU SHOU complex. Repeat after me FU LU SHOU. That's right. Fu means prosperity in chinese, LU means wealth and Shou means longevity. But before we reach our first stop, let me play you the introductory audio track.
Arh... Working on my HIPPOtour presentation right now...

Baking
Finally baked my first cake... Cheese Cake. Got the recipe from the Raffles Hotel book which I borrowed frm the library last week.
Yeeling came over to help out too. She also baked another cake to take home. A crusty apple-cheese-almond cake.
My cake cleared in a matter of a day. Most of it was given away to friends. My sister's friends, my mom's friend and my boyfriend's family.
Creamy rich cheesy fattening cake containing 4 eggs ( suppose to be 6) full of sugar, cream and 6 packs of philedelphia cream cheese.
The baking equipment already burnt a hole in my pocket.
It was really humourous to see the entire cake split into 3 parts like the ice berg from the "Titanic" immediately after I unmoulded it. Then, we decided to freeze it and maybe it would turn out into better looking cheese cake ice - cream. Anyway, I realised how important it is to heed instructions...a lesson which should have been drummed into my head eversince I went to school.
O well... you can never cut down on the amount of fat you wanna take away from what you bake...
The only thing to do...is to give the cake away.

THe sea in Malaysia hasn't changed after the Tsunami for your info.
:-)
Little nemos, turtle on surface,a family of trigger fish,a couple of angel fish, yellow-striped fish, bulging eyes, ikan bilis, kuning fish on nasi lemak swimming swiftly with its friends, the great purplish clam opening its mouth,
sea urchins, stoned corals, bread, blue and purple parrot fish, groupa and pomfret you see on dinner tables living their lives, binging on tidbits and peanuts on the boat and drinking O-So-yUmmy mineral water...

finally... my time is up.
A permanent teacher is going to take my teaching spot so I'll be free again.
What shall I be next?
A retail assistant
An apprentice at my Grandma's home
An ice-cream waitress

A significant life bookmark
Going back to Hwa Chong was almost surreal. It was just overwhelmingly nostalgic just looking at students at the class benches. Maybe that IS what the Hwa Chong spirit feels like.I couldn't have pictured the entire scene.
Crying, smiling, hugging, yammering...hi-5s, hand-shakes being exchanged...
Reporters snapping furiously at faces evoking emotions...
I was so in awe.
Got to meet my math teacher when I went into the audi.
Got to meet all my lit teachers.
Got to meet my econs teacher at the result-distribution centre.
Got to meet my juniors at the class benches.
Reminiscent of going for a Miss Chen's wedding b4 our GP exam...
Reminiscent of the A level exam period when I fell awfully ill and was made to sit by myself at the hall without my class in the background...or causing 03A14 to suffer from the lack of AIRCON during our ENg Lit paper 1. . .
feeling shitty that I was sick even from the start of the stretch of the A papers...
crying in the car on the way for my first paper because I didn't feel that awesome having a high-fever...
having the invigilaters pander to my every comfort...
Getting the privilege to be first to collect my results slip because I was nearest to Mdm Tay... I was dreading the fact that being last on the register, I'd be the last to collect the slip... feeling all left-out and uncertain.
woah.
ANd swiftly, swiftly, these are mere memories now eclipsed by the final grades, wrapping up our progress and mental growth in HC; as well as this short, albeit all-important chapter of life.
Once more, God, you are my strength and my miracle-maker.
Thanks to my parents who constantly encouraged me through each and every paper.
Thanks to my dad who chauffered me to school during my exams.
Thanks to my mom who daggled a carrot in front of me while I trudged on...
Thanks to my sister who prayed for me when I was struggling with sickness during my exams and for cheering me up with that false alarm when I bluffed you that I had gotten 4 Cs.Haha. So much for believing in me!
Thanks to Wenhui, my personal FOC,24hours available math mentor.
Thanks to my friends and teachers who were at my back and call
;esp to my lit gang.(Cheers, we all got what we wanted for lit.)
